She's Cherokee

I spent this past 4th of July with my family at the Lake. I had talked to Vasu a couple days earlier and invited her to come down. I told her that she would experience the 4 F's(Food, Family, Friends, Fun) when hanging with the Thomases and the Etheredges. Needless to say, Vasu said she would think about it. When I arrived at the Lake house on the 2nd I told my Mom that a friend of mine might be coming to spend the 4th with us. I told her that she needed to be on her best behavior and please try not to tell too many stories of how when I was little that I didn't like to wear pants and that certain days of the week I was permitted to go shortless. So my mom asks, "Who is this friend that might be coming down?" I reply, "Her name is Vasu and she went to UAB with me." My mom looking a bit puzzled by the name, says to me in her 6th grade teachers voice, "That's a very unique name." My response to her is that Vasu is from Baton Rouge and her parents are Indian. The conversation ends, and I proceed to ride jet-skis for the rest of the day which results in the sorest sartorius muscle ever. However, the next day at lunch my cousin's 5 year old daughter asks me when my ohyoyoyo-ohyoyoyo (Indian noise) friend is going to get here. I'm a little bit puzzled and I ask Olivia what she is talking about. She being 5 years old, has no response except ohyoyoyo-ohyoyoyo (x10). I ask my aunt why Olivia is making that noise, and she says to me and I quote, "Your mom told us about your Cherokee friend coming over for the 4th and Olivia is soooooooo excited to meet a real Indian. She's got her camera ready to take pictures so she can show her friends when she gets back to school."

Right then and there I lost it.

Try this tomorrow

When you wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and tell yourself “(your name), today is going to be a great day!” It’ll change your life.

Indian Girl runs away from Thong Song

Wise words from Scott:

"Just because someone signs you up for a karaoke song and promises they will sing with you, doesn't mean they will...make them sign a contract."

To give you a preview of whats to come...

"What are the standards for the blog?" - Vasu

"I kind of want to set them low so we don't fail. That's also how I view my relationship with girls." - Scott

LULZ...
This is my first blog post. Vasu and I will post little nuggets about life on here everyday. If they worked for us then they can work for you!

Here's our first little pearl of wisdom straight from the lips of Vasu aka Plato(because of her deep intellectual insight) :

I don't like to cry and doing it in the shower makes it seem like its not crying.
